Beth and Peter's pre-lockdown Wedding Ceremony

Beth and Peter were due to get married on the 3rd April, however as a UK wide lockdown looked imminent and after the Church of Wales announced they would be stopping all wedding ceremonies until July, they decided to see if they could put together a very last minute wedding and get married before the rules came into force.

I have no idea how they pulled everything together so fast, but on Friday 20th March, hours before the Church locked it doors for the foreseeable future, they were married. There were just 6 guests there, and me taking photos. One of the guests was filming it, and another was live streaming the ceremony to their friends and family on facebook. There was also another phone set up with a video call to Peter’s family overseas.

It was definitely a wedding to remember, and like nothing I’ve experienced before. Given the fact a lockdown was announced a few days later, and weddings are no longer allowed, I’m so glad they didn’t wait, and I’m so glad I was able to be there for them.

I can’t wait to celebrate all over again with them when they finally get to have their wedding reception later this year!

The Ceremony

The wedding took place at Trinity Methodist church in Penarth, South Wales.

The Couple’s Portraits

We made the most of the area around the church for some couple’s portraits before they headed off to a celebratory meal with their family.

The Group Photographs

We also managed to get some group photographs of Beth and Peter with their guests, which felt even more important under the circumstances.

If you are looking for a Wedding photographer then do get in touch. I can’t wait to hear all about your plans.
